Beni Suryadi is the Project Officer for the Department of Regional Energy Policy and Planning of ASEAN Centre for Energy, a Southeast Asia intergovernmental organization in energy cooperation, which based in Jakarta – Indonesia. He is responsible for overall coordination, facilitation and implementation of the Work Program of ASEAN‘s Regional Energy Policy and Planning Sub – Sector Network (REPP-SSN) and monitoring the implementation of ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2010-2015.
He is part of Energy Supply and Security Planning in ASEAN’s (ESSPA) team; collaborate with statisticians from all ASEAN member states and the experts from the Energy Data and Modelling Center, Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (EDMC-IEEJ) for the developing of the 3rd ASEAN Energy Outlook (will publish on March 2011). He’s familiar with LEAP, Long range Energy Alternatives Planning System, software tool for energy policy analysis and climate change mitigation assessment.
He is also responsible for the management of ASEAN Energy Data System (AEDS) and publication of the annual ASEAN Energy Review and ASEAN Energy Indicators, two flagship publications of ACE. These two publications provide users with a better understanding of the various development and trends in the energy economy as well as provide analysis and insights on emerging critical issues and challenges faced by the region which ASEAN will use as guidepost in developing a more comprehensive method of performing energy analysis needed for formulating sound regional energy policies.
He is also a secretariat officer for ASEAN+3 Work Program namely Oil Stockpiling Roadmap (OSRM).
He was participated on the Emergency Response Training for APEC Economies, on September 2010 and the 5th Emergency Response Exercise on November 2010. Both of these activities were conducted by International Energy Agency in their headquarters, Paris, France.
Prior to joining ACE, Beni worked as the consultant for the private company in the field of MEP and Energy Efficiency and Conservation for the building and industry in Indonesia.
An Indonesia citizen, Beni was born in Solok in 1984. He earned a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology.
